Large financial investor
A large international investor wanted to invest 15-20 billion euros in real decarbonisation solutions within a specific segment of the renewable energy sector over the next 5 years. However, there is currently an explosion of sustainable and CO2/NOx emission reduction claims by companies and institutions. The actual purpose of this is 'greenwashing' in combination with the continuation of the current (fossil) revenue model. An example is the oil & gas industry. This leads to confusion for investors who want to invest in real sustainable solutions. This investor struggled to find real decarbonisation investment targets and to make a reliable risk analysis, including analysis of alternative solutions in terms of costs and CO2 emissions. This is part of a broad wish of the stakeholders to make the investment portfolio more sustainable in steps. Gert has assisted them as a consultant with an in-depth analysis of the desired market segment, finding the right business model, mapping the risks and pros and cons of alternative solutions and finding concrete interesting real sustainable decarbonization investment targets. This process is concluded with an extensive workshop with the team members of the direct team and members of other investment teams active in adjacent areas.
Industrial family production company
For an internationally operating industrial family business of 1200 employees, Gert was responsible as interim Sales Director for a sales, marketing & customer service team with around 75 people. Use was made of both direct sales and through distributors. Together with the shareholders, the team increased the turnover of 95 MEuro in one year by around 10%. The most important accelerator turned out to be a better focus on key accounts and improving the relationship with this. In addition, a number of new product developments such as an IoT solution have contributed to a stronger position in the various markets.
